Of all the excitement found at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, the biggest overall attraction has always been the food. Whether baked, grilled or fried, the EISF has a rich tradition of offering the best fair food in the west! Each year, winners are chosen from two categories: “Best New Food Creation” and the grand champion “Fairest of them All” award. Both winners receive a banner to hang in their booth declaring them champions, and the Grand Champion “Fairest of them All” winner has the honor of display the traveling “Golden Corndog” trophy for the week.

Toffee Tumbler (1st place) A sweet dough rolled with butter, cinnamon and sugar with toffee bits. Cooked to a light golden brown, then topped with more toffee bits and soft serve vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Sweet Temptations

Chicken Pesto Crepe Crepe with Chicken, two cheeses, tomatoes, pesto sauce with fried cheese on the outside served with a side salad. Crepe Craze
Peaches n’ Cream Crepe Dessert Crepe filled with peaches and cream, topped with caramel praline sauce. Crepe Craze
Black & Blue Burger This juicy 1/4 pound burger is seasoned, topped with 2 slices of bacon and the perfect combination of blue cheese dressing and Franks Red Hot sauce. Yum! The Pit Stop
The Lover’s Quarrel This tremendously popular Lovers Quarrel sandwich at the
Bread Barn is freshly baked bread loaded with real turkey, Colby Jack cheese, fresh tomato, crunchy bacon and crisp paper thin slices of apples and our own secret sauce. Topped with a Hershey’s Kiss to sweeten the quarrel over the last yummy bite.

mexican sweet cheese, and a blend of fresh peppers with chili lime to season.
El Elote Loco
Gourmet Tacos Char grilled strips of carne asada steak placed on two corn
tortillas with fresh cilantro and red onions garnished with pico de gallo, sour cream, and a fresh slice of lime.

Strawberries and Cream Have you ever wanted something sweet and refreshing to enjoy while walking around the fair? I know I have and our new “Strawberries and Cream” is perfect for that. We put the most delicious fresh fruit and sweet cream in a cup to create the perfect fair food for all ages. It is a guiltless (fresh fruit) but has enough sweetness to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. Come taste a little bit of heaven in a cup at Snappys Funnel Cakes. Snappy’s Funnel Cakes

“What the Sam Hell” Slice The Bread Barn has been a family run business for 35 years! Our father, Wes DaBell was a major part of the booths success. Last year on the first day of the Fair, he was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive form of cancer and passed away 5 months later. In his honor, we introduce his favorite way to eat our delicious hot slices of bread! All four of our toppings on each corner of the slice~Butter and homemade strawberry jam, our original creamy honey butter, raspberry honey butter, and huckleberry honey butter. His response struck when he saw what we’d done and that’s how the “What the Sam Hell” slice started. Please enjoy your delicious slice as we celebrate his fun personality here with our EISF family!
